[RWK Electric Guitars]

LaBaye Guitars.

LaBaye "2X4" guitars were invented by and made for Dan Helland in the mid 1960's. They were built in a factory in Neodesha, Kansas. He named them "LaBaye" after the city he sold them in: Green Bay, Wisconsin.
There appeared to be 4 models:
  • The 6-string.
  • The 12-string.
  • The short-scale bass.
  • The long-scale bass.
Only about a total of 45 LaBaye guitars were ever made: 1 long-scale bass, a few short-scale basses and the rest were 6-strings.

This information was from a "Vintage Guitar" article written by Michael Wright in June, 1992.
